TLDR: I have a few months left to live due to cancer, so Dana hosted me at UFC Long Island. Watched the fights from his room and also ringside (first row)! It was the best day of my life.

—————————————————————-

First off I’d like to thank all of you for giving my previous post exposure.

I’d also like to thank Dana, Eric, Joann, Anik, DC, all the fighters, and every single person who made this experience what it was.

The experience: When we got to will call at round 10:40(the first prelim fight started at 11 and I wasnt going to miss a second of a tip ) to pick up our tickets, they said they didn’t have anything for me so I sent an email to someone I had been communicating with at the UFC. A few minutes passed, a girl came and got us, and she told us that we were in Dana’s section in the first row! Another surprise was that we had access to Dana’s room!!! I knew the day was shaping up to be unforgettable.

We checked out the room which had a nice bar and catered food. There were also some other execs/employees in there, and all of them were extremely nice and down to earth(the security guy kinda scared me at first but he turned out to be just as nice as everyone else which was shown by him conversing with my friend when I stepped away for a couple minutes).

Then we went to check out our seats and my jaw dropped. You know you’re close when you have to zoom out to get the whole octagon in the picture. The sound of the kicks in the first fight(women) were really eye opening. Then you hear a kick during the guys fight and you wonder how their leg isn’t broken from just one of them. THEN you hear a kick to the midsection and it’s twice as loud as the leg kicks lol. Seeing the aggression, blood, pain, anguish(especially from the Burns fight and the main event) up close was surreal. It’s just… different.

Every single fight delivered. From knockouts to submissions, to one of the best fights I’ve ever watched in 5+ years of being a fan, fight wise I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Getting to watch the fights 2ft from Dana was amazing because you got to see and hear his take about everything. He is truly a fight fan and even if he had nothing to do with the UFC, I guarantee he would be in attendance as a fan also. He had on some awesome Travis Scott sneakers too so I have to give him props for that.

Every employee was as nice as could be. Anik saw me, ran over, and introduced himself and said some kind words, and so did DC. I tracked down Dana later and what he said made me cry.

This meant more to me than you can imagine. I have had just shy of 150 chemo treatments, 60 radiation sessions, 10 surgeries, and a lot of bad days in the past 6 years. UFC Long Island was the best day of my life, during a time where I have more bad days than good and it was much needed.

Thank you again everyone! -Jason
