Jorge Masvidal sounds of on ‘little b*tch’ Gilbert Burns after accusation of turning down UFC fight offers

Jorge Masvidal has spoken out on some of the recent fight-related accusations thrown his way, and he’s none too please.

Masvidal, a two-time UFC welterweight title challenger, responded to fellow contender Gilbert Burns, who’s been saying for months that Masvidal keeps turning down offers to fight.

In a video posted to his Instagram on Thursday, Masvidal addressed Burns’ claim and took the opportunity to challenge him to a fight on the same March card in which champion Leon Edwards is expected to defend his title in a rematch with Kamaru Usman.

“Sorry I’ve been missing,” Masvidal said. “Your boy has been spreading his words, doing his thing, making sure this country can be as safe as it can be. I love all of you left and right. Midterms (election) are over already, so I can focus on some other things like myself and being selfish, so I’m going to address this little b*tch, who I usually don’t have time for, but I’ll make some time for you today, Gilbert.

“Hunter (Campbell), when you hear this or see this, can you please tell this b*tch I never agreed to November, December or January. I’ve had court cases, I’ve had different things, a bunch of things, and I haven’t been able to decide who I got to fight. Now I got some much better news today, so guess what? If you want to get your ass whooped when Leon Edwards defends his f*cking belt in England, I would gladly beat the sh*t out of you, Gilbert.

“If not, shut the f*ck up, because you are a p*ssy, and you’re not going to do nothing when you see me on the street or when you see me in the cage – and we both know it. You’re going to ask for a picture when you see me in real life and say, It’s all bullsh*t, and it’s just for the pay-per-view.’ So shut the f*ck up.”

Masvidal (35-16 MMA, 12-9 UFC) has a pending legal case stemming from his alleged attack on Colby Covington back in March in Miami Beach. On Thursday, Masvidal was scheduled for a Feb. 27 trial date. He faces charges on single counts of aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm and criminal mischief. If found guilty, Masvidal could face up to 15 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.

Masvidal hasn’t fought since March when he lost a unanimous decision to Covington in the main event of UFC 272. Prior to that, Masvidal had a pair of back to back defeats to then champion Kamaru Usman.

Burns (20-5 MMA, 13-5 UFC) hasn’t competed since his barnburner against Khamzat Chimaev this past April. Although he lost the bout, Burns’ stock skyrocketed after taking the dominant, unbeaten star to the brink. That’s Burns’ only fight in 2022.
