Paddy Pimblett predicts a ‘quick finish’ for UFC 282

Rising lightweight star Paddy Pimblett takes on Jared Gordon in the UFC 282 co-main event on December 10, and predicts a ‘quick finish.’

Pimblett (19-3) has been flawless in his three bouts inside the Octagon. He’s finished all three of his opponents and hasn’t seen a third round. He’ll enter the cage at T-Mobile Arena riding a five-fight winning streak.

Gordon (19-5) is an 11-fight UFC veteran coming off a decision win over Leonardo Santos in his last outing. After having difficulty making weight as a featherweight, Gordon returned to the lightweight division last year and has gone 2-1.

“He’s a tough fighter. He’s had a lot of trials and turbulations outside of the cage. He’s been legally dead for two minutes,” Pimblett said of Gordon during an appearance on Pub Talk. “I actually feel bad because I think I’m going to knock him out in the first round.”

“I’m going to come out and finish him fast. I’m not messing about,” Pimblett continued. “Get a bet on that, first round. Give him his due. He’s tough. Not many people have finished him in the first. I think the only person to finish him in the first is former champion Charles Oliveira, but that’s what I’m here to do. I’m here to champion, so I need to finish him like he did.”

“I think I’ll knock him out with a head kick or a right hand.”
