Body cam footage released of police talking to Colby Covington and witnesses after alleged Jorge Masvidal assault

Police body cam footage of officers talking to UFC welterweight Colby Covington and several witnesses after Covington was allegedly assaulted by Jorge Masvidal has been released.

On March 22, just 17 days after Covington defeated Masvidal in the UFC 272 main event by unanimous decision, Covington was allegedly attacked by Masvidal outside of a Miami restaurant. Masvidal was arrested the following day and and charged with aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm and one count of criminal mischief. Masvidal pleaded not guilty to the charges.

On Monday, the YouTube Channel Real World Police released body cam footage of police talking to Covington following the allegedly assault.

“So you guys know what happened, right,” a witness can be heard telling police. “These are two fighters of the UFC. The had a fight two weeks ago. He (Covington) won the fight. The other fighter came over here when he saw him and I saw him punch him.”

“He had a mask on, a hoodie on with a hat and comes by and sucker punches me right in the f**king face,” Covington can be heard telling officers.

In the 15-minute footage, police spoke to Covington and several witnesses, and their accounts of what happened are pretty damning for Masvidal. See the entire video below.
