‘Korean Zombie’ responds to Max Holloway callout: ‘Thanks for setting my OG mind on fire’

Chan Sung Jung would love to fight Max Holloway.

Holloway (24-7 MMA, 20-7 UFC) respectfully issued “The Korean Zombie” a challenge after snapping Arnold Allen’s winning streak in this past Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 44 headliner in Kansas City.

Jung (17-7 MMA, 7-4 UFC) took to Instagram to respond to Holloway’s callout, and he’s all in for the fight.

“Been a long time,” Jung wrote. “Thanks for setting my ‘OG’ mind on fire. Let’s go, brother!”

“Holloway, if you want to fight me, anytime, anywhere,” Jung said. “Let’s go, brother.”

Remarkably, Holloway and Jung never have crossed paths. Both fighters have plenty of opponents in common, but the stars haven’t aligned for a matchup. Holloway has knocked off most top contenders, and Jung would be a fresh matchup.

“Korean Zombie, that’s the only guy of my time, with the older guys, that I didn’t get to fight,” Holloway told reporters at the UFC on ESPN 44 post-fight press conference. “I would love that fight.”

Jung, a former two-time title challenger, hasn’t competed since a lopsided TKO loss to champion Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 273 last April. Prior to that, Jung had won three of his past four – back-to-back Round 1 TKOs over Renato Moicano and Frankie Edgar, followed by a unanimous decision over Dan Ige.
