Jake Paul agrees to have KSI as backup for boxing match; Nate Diaz fires back

Nate Diaz has told Jake Paul and KSI to just go ahead and box each other as his legal situation unfolds.

On Monday, the New Orleans Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Diaz on suspicion of second-degree battery following a physical altercation last Friday that was captured on video. Diaz was seen choking a man, Rodney Peterson, unconscious with a standing guillotine and dropping him on the ground.

Diaz (0-0) is scheduled to face Paul (6-1) in an eight-round boxing match Aug. 5 at American Airlines Center in Dallas. The fight will take place at 185 pounds and be promoted by DAZN with a live pay-per-view.

With Diaz’s legal situation, his fight with Paul could be in jeopardy. KSI, who boxes Joe Fournier on May 13, offered to serve as a backup, and Paul appreciated the gesture on social media.

“Great. I accept you as the backup opponen,” Paul tweeted to KSI. “Fight is at 185. There are no rehydration clauses. Stay in shape and we will give you a call if needed. Thanks buddy for being so humble and committed.”

Diaz saw this and fired back at both men, suggesting they fight each other while he looks to fight someone else.

“Lol why Don’t u two scared p*ssys just fight each other august I’ll fight someone who can really fight.”

If found guilty, Diaz could face up to eight years in prison and/or a $2,000 fine, which is the penalty in Louisiana for second-degree battery.
