Conor McGregor scuffles with Michael Chandler, Dana White storms the cage

Conor McGregor showed some cracks in his armor on Episode 6 of The Ultimate Fighter, Season 31. When his fighter lost once again – his fighters have lost all six of their bouts – McGregor put hands on fellow TUF coach Michael Chandler, forcing UFC president Dana White to storm into the Octagon.

McGregor and Chandler appeared inches away from fighting each other after Chandler chipped away at the Irishman’s pride.

After his fighter won, Chandler turned the screws on McGregor, saying, “Stacking them up. Stacking them up later this year, too.”

When McGregor shoved Chandler, they started jawwing about fighting right there on the spot. White then came running to the Octagon, yelling at people around the cage to get out of his way.

McGregor has missed weigh-ins on the show and Team McGregor fighter Aaron McKenzie said that he missed many of the morning practices. McKenzie, however, added that editing of the show made it look like McGregor was missing more than he actually was.

“The day after ‘Wonderboy’ was there, he was gone for three or four days for filming. But other than that he was there every day pretty much. He was at night practices. He was there, ready to go,” McKenzie told FanSided MMA.

“He was involved in practice, he was coaching, he was training with us. So he was there a lot more than the cameras are actually making him out to be.”

Even if McGregor was not at practice, his hand-picked coaches were, including his own head coach John Kavanagh. The other McGregor coaches include Owen Roddy, Phil Sutcliffe, and Cian Cowley.

That didn’t stop Chandler from needling McGregor for not being there for his team, though. And, at least with what we get to see on the heavily edited reality show, Chandler’s barbs appeared to dent McGregor’s ego.
