UFC middleweight contender Sean Strickland has become as well known for expressing his views about American Society and Politics as he has for his in-Octagon success. He recently joined Joe Rogan’s popular podcast to expand upon comments he made following his victory over Abus Magomedov at UFC Vegas 76 last weekend.
Strickland has never been shy about sharing his opinions on just about anything.
Asked about the recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions to overturn Affirmative Action and block U.S. President Joe Biden’s student loan debt forgiveness plan, Strickland said, in part, “I’m happy with The Supreme Court. We’ve got a good rooster on that Supreme Court.”
That, of course, isn’t all that offensive in and of itself. But prior to his UFC Vegas 76 victory, he was asked about UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, who he said should have his “black card revoked,” while also making controversial statements about women in the workforce.
In his Joe Rogan Podcast interview, Strickland further expounded upon his controversial comments, delving particularly deep into his life experiences with pornography and telling Rogan, “I am white trash.”
Aside from his edgier comments that tend to get a strong reaction out of people, at moments during his Joe Rogan interview, Strickland provided many philosophical thoughts about what shapes American values. One of his primary targets? Corporations.
Strickland is an interesting personality for sure, but it is difficult to put his personality into words. So I should probably let him talk for himself if you’re looking to get a read on him.
