Mayra Bueno Silva calls for title shot after beating Holly Holm

Mayra Bueno Silva may have surprised many people with her 5:38 stoppage of former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm on Saturday at UFC Vegas 77. It only served to bolster her self-confidence and led to a demand for a shot at the UFC bantamweight title that was recently vacated by Amanda Nunes.

“I do what I say. Now I want a belt because I deserve (it). Nobody finish like me. I deserve belt,” Bueno Silva said following the fight.

“Hey, Julianna Pena, let’s go. I deserve this. You deserve this. The people deserve this. Plus they need a new face. I am the new face. I finish my fights. I did a show for everybody.”

Bueno Silva’s credentials are getting hard to argue against. Holm was ranked No. 3 in the bantamweight division coming into the fight. She became the latest on Bueno Silva’s hit list since forgoing mediocre results in the flyweight division.

Back at bantamweight, Bueno Silva has now won four consecutive bouts, which includes a Fight of the Night honor and two Performance of the Night bonuses.
