Could Michael ‘Venom’ Page be headed to the UFC?

Michael “Venom” Page is a longtime staple of the Bellator cage. The wildly successful British fighter built his career hand-in-hand with the promotion. But there is a chance he could soon be headed to the UFC or elsewhere.

Of his 23 mixed martial arts fights, Page has fought just four times outside the promotion, amassing an impressive 21-2 record. Thirteen of his victories have come by way of knockout.

Michael ‘Venom’ Page announces his free agency

Having fought out his Bellator contract, Page recently decided to see what the market has to offer.

“I am currently unemployed. I am officially a free agent,” Page said recently on The MMA Hour.

“It’s a new space for me. I’ve never been in this place. Since joining with Bellator, I’ve never looked back.”

It’s not that Page is unhappy with Bellator, which has recently been the subject of talk about a potential sale to the likes of the PFL (Professional Fighters League) or the UFC. At 36 years of age, he’s simply ready to see what value the free agent market puts on his services.

“I’ve had a great ride and enjoyed that journey (with Bellator), and it doesn’t mean the journey has stopped here. It just means I’m having a look,” Page continued.

“I want to explore this space just to see what I’m valued at. I want to see my worth. Let me explore the waters, the MMA ocean, and see what bites.”
