Alexander Volkanovski had successful surgery

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski underwent successful surgery this week to repair an injured arm.  

Following his UFC 290 win over Yair Rodriguez, Volkanovski indicated that he was going to have surgery.  

“I need to get a little bit of surgery on my arm,” said Volkanovski during his UFC 290 post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.  “I’ll have that surgery as soon as I get home and then I’ll be back in – I still want one this year.”  

‘The Great’ characterized the surgery as ‘not a big dead’  while speaking during the UFC 290 post-fight press conference.  

“It’s not a big deal. I’ll be back in like ASAP,” he said.  “It will be a quick one.  Just need to get something sorted.  

Volkanovski posted a story to his Instagram account with a heavily bandaged right arm.  “Surgery was a success,” he wrote.
