Mayra Bueno Silva wants title fight against Julianna Peña

Mayra Bueno Silva tapped out Holly Holm in her last outing and now has her sights set on former champion Julianna Peña.

“I think Julianna Peña (is next),” Bueno Silva told ESPN MMA.  “I deserve this.  I finished my fight.  I come from four wins and three fight of the nights.  I deserve this.”

When Amanda Nunes retired, she left the UFC women’s bantamweight championship vacant.  A title bout between Bueno Silva and Peña makes sense.  

Bueno Silva would like to face Peña on the UFC 295 fight card on Nov. 11 at Madison Square Garden in New York.  

“New York is perfect,” she said.  “It’s a big show, a big event, Jon Jones.  I think this is good for me, good for the UFC.  It’s good for the fans.”

“I am the next champion.”
