Justin Gaethje calls Conor McGregor a cheater after UFC 291 callout

“I’m not gonna fight someone on steroids. I’ve never taken steroids and I don’t want to fight someone that’s cheating.” – Justin Gaethje

Justin Gaethje fought one of the best fights of his career at UFC 291. He showed the patience, but also the fire to pounce that is a wicked combination when it comes to someone with the skill that he possesses.

That immaculate performance came against one of the most formidable opponents in any division in the UFC: Dustin Poirier. Gaethje had already lost to Poirier once, so it made the redemption all the more sweet.

But one man tried to spoil it, inserting himself in the conversation, as he almost always does. Conor McGregor quickly took to Twitter to call out Gaethje following his BMF title victory, casting aside his obligation to fight Michael Chandler following The Ultimate Fighter.

Gaethje, however, may have given McGregor the most admonishing response possible, when he said at the UFC 291 post-fight press conference, “I don’t really care (about McGregor’s callout).”

And then added, “I like to fight big fights. I like exciting things. It sounds pretty exciting to me. (But) I’m not gonna fight someone on steroids. I’ve never taken steroids and I don’t want to fight someone that’s cheating.”
