Michael Bisping: ‘Nate Diaz didn’t deliver, let everyone down’

Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping had some harsh criticism of Nate Diaz’ performance against Jake Paul.

“Nate Diaz didn’t deliver, let everyone down,” Bisping said on his YouTube Channel.  “It was kind of an underwhelming fight.”

Diaz lost a one-sided decision to Jake Paul on Aug. 5 in Dallas becoming the latest former UFC fighter to lose to the YouTuber turned boxer.

Bisping’s not sure Diaz beats Paul in MMA

Leading up to the fight and afterward, Paul said he wanted to give Diaz a rematch under mixed martial arts rules.  He offered Diaz $10 million to take the fight.  Paul is signed with the Professional Fighters League (PFL), so an MMA fight with Diaz would have to take place in that organization.  Diaz is a free agent and nothing is standing in the way of signing with the PFL, at least for one fight.

“Of course Nate’s going to accept that.  He wasn’t quick to accept it before the fight, but he is now because now he wants to get revenge.  He wants to get a level playing field.  He wants to be able to use the whole arsenal of his skills.  And $10 million on the line, why wouldn’t he take that,” said Bisping.

“I don’t know necessarily, and you’re going to hate me for saying this, but I don’t know necessarily that Jake doesn’t win an MMA fight,” continued Bisping.  “Nate’s got tremendous grappling but he’s not he’s not the biggest wrestler.  He’s not the biggest kicker… I don’t think Jake Paul would be shooting takedowns on him.  I think he would keep the fight on the feet and it might even turn into a boxing match.  You never know.”
