UFC veteran Mike Perry signs multi-fight deal with BKFC

Former UFC welterweight Mike Perry will continue his bareknuckle boxing journey under the BKFC banner.

Perry (3-0 BKFC) joined the promotion shortly after his final fight in the UFC in April 2021, and has now re-signed for a new multi-fight deal, the promotion announced Wednesday.

“I am absolutely thrilled to make the announcement today of ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry re-signing with BKFC,” said David Feldman, President and Founder of BKFC. “His presence in our promotion has truly galvanized the company.

“For the last couple of months, I’ve been contacted every day from fans and the media inquiring about when he was fighting next. With this announcement today, we can finalize plans for his highly anticipated return to the squared circle”

“Platinum” Perry is undefeated in gloveless competition, picking up three wins in BKFC. In his debut at BKFC: KnuckleMania 2, Perry defeated Julian Lane by unanimous decision. He followed that performance up with a majority decision win over Michael Page six months later.

In Perry’s most recent outing at BKFC 41, he stopped former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold in the second round by TKO due to injury. After the fight, he had an impromptu faceoff with MMA superstar Conor McGregor. The bout was the headlining act of the promotion’s biggest card to date, and they have now secured Perry’s services for another set of fights.

Perry recently told MMA Junkie Radio that traditional boxing was of interest. He mentioned wanting to fight Tommy Fury or KSI, in addition to more seasoned professional boxers such as Jermell Charlo or Dmitry Bivol.

“I know I can box,” Perry said. “I can box. I can box so good, you could punch me and it don’t matter – (I’ll) head butt your hands and then punch you in the face and knock out your teeth. What the hell – I can’t lie: That’s where I’m at. I love to box, and no matter the sport, I’m going to box you up.”

No date for Perry’s return to the BKFC ring has been announced, although the promotion is planning another big event before the end of the year.
