Dana White says Trump vs. Putin would be only fight bigger than Musk vs. Zuckerberg

Will they or won’t they? Everyone is still asking if X (formerly Twitter) head honcho Elon Musk and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg are actually going to step foot in the cage and fight a mixed martial arts bout as they have teased.

Everyone speculates that it is simply a bunch of bluster by a couple of tech titans well-versed in social media discourse. But UFC president Dana White insists that both men told him they seriously want to fight each other. So he is pursuing as if it were real.

And why not? White says that it would be the biggest fight in combat sports history. In fact, he told Mike Tyson on the former heavyweight boxing champion’s podcast that there was only one fight that he felt would be bigger.

“It’s real. It’s real. They do want to fight. It’s real,” White insisted. He added, “(Former U.S. President Donald) Trump would have to fight (Russian President Vladimir) Putin for a fight to be bigger than (Musk vs. Zuckerberg).”

White isn’t simply waiting for Musk and Zuckerberg to sign on the dotted line. He’s out hustling, trying to make the spectacle of Twitter (now X) vs. Facebook, the biggest thing you could imagine.

“It’s one of those fights that if we did do that, I would build a killer undercard with tons of great fights. Then you’d have the main event. But think about how big that fight is. Two of the richest, most powerful guys in the f**king world are gonna fight on the biggest stage. Who the f**k doesn’t want to see that fight?” he questioned.

But that’s not all. White wouldn’t just stack the card. He wants Musk vs. Zuckerberg to take place in a location so iconic that he might even get the Pope to watch.

“We were talking about the Colosseum (in Rome) for that fight,” White told Tyson.  “I actually did have a meeting with the Minister of Culture’s team in Italy to actually hold that fight in the Colosseum if it would happen.”

All we need now are a few lions and Roman gladiators to round out the ambiance. But hey, you could bet your last dollar that people around the world, fight fans or not, would be glued to a Musk vs. Zuckerberg battle no matter what the accoutrements.

“The biggest fight of all time was Conor (McGregor) and Floyd (Mayweather, Jr.), which did four point something million pay-per-view buys,” said White. “And then the second biggest one was Floyd and Manny (Pacquiao), which is literally right behind it.”

But White believes Musk vs. Zuckerberg dwarfs them both.

“I think this thing does a billion dollars in revenue.”
