Francis Ngannou promises Tyson Fury ‘will hit the canvas’

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is scheduled to box boxing champion Tyson Fury on Oct. 28 in Saudi Arabia and promised that Fury ‘will hit the canvas.  Ngannou made the comments in an interview with TMZ Sports.

“In Saudi, he’s going to hit the canvas.  I can tell you that,” said Ngannou.  “He’s good at coming back up.  We’re going to find out how good he is, but he’s going to his the canvas.”

Ngannou has been training with boxing legend Mike Tyson for the upcoming match.  Fury recently stated that it doesn’t matter if Ngannou is being trained by Bruce Lee or Muhammad Ali.  It wouldn’t matter.

“What doesn’t matter is what he’s says.  What matters is what’s going to happen in Saudi,” Ngannou responded.

Fury is filming a reality show, “At Home with the Furys,” but Ngannou doesn’t think that will be a distraction for the undefeated boxer.

“He knows what his focus is on.  He’s a professional, so he knows what he has to do,” Ngannou said.  “It’s not like he’s playing in a movie.  It’s just a reality show, which is about what he’s doing, which is everyday everybody can do.  So, that doesn’t take away from his work.”

Ngannou is signed by the Professional Fighters League for his MMA career.  Following the Fury fight, he expects to transition right back into the cage.  “I’ll see you at PFL in February or March,” he said.
