BREAKING: Tye Ruotolo vs. Magomed Abdulkadirov Set For ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling World Title Match On Nov. 3 (Exclusive)

20-year-old submission grappling phenom Tye Ruotolo will face Magomed Abdulkadirov for the vacant ONE welterweight submission grappling championship at ONE Fight Night 16.

A top ONE Championship official told MMANews of the booking on Tuesday morning.

Tye, the twin brother of ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling Champion Kade Ruotolo, is the youngest IBJJF black belt world champion in submission grappling history. He has won four straight grappling matches in ONE since signing with the promotion last year.

Ruotolo burst onto the scene in ONE when he defeated Garry Tonon by D’arce choke at ONE Championship 157 last year.

ONE Championship

Ruotolo secured the vacant welterweight title shot by submitting Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev in just under three minutes at ONE Fight Night 13. He’s also defeated Reinier de Ridder and Marat Gafurov during his promotional tenure.

Abdulkadirov is a European ADCC champion and is a recent ONE signee. He’ll be making his promotional debut at ONE Fight Night 16 against Ruotolo.

ONE Fight Night 16 is headlined by a bantamweight kickboxing title fight between Jonathan Haggerty and Fabricio de Andrade. The event takes place at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
