Nate Diaz calls for Jake Paul boxing rematch, MMA trilogy fight: ‘U need time to train anyway u suck’

Nate Diaz is open to a fight against Jake Paul in MMA, but prefers it comes after a boxing rematch.

Monday, Diaz dispelled notions put forth recently by Paul and called for a boxing rematch on New Year’s Eve.

“Your full of shit I didn’t ask for shit I’ll fight u tomorrow n Mma the problem is u suck and I don’t work for pussyFL dumbass u do,” Diaz wrote Monday on X. “Rematch is in boxing trilogy is in Mma u need time to train anyway u suck New Year’s Eve is good.”

Paul and Diaz boxed Aug. 5 in Dallas. Paul defeated Diaz by unanimous decision in a 10-round pay-per-view bout. Following the fight, Paul called for a rematch in MMA. On the other hand, Diaz angled for a boxing rematch.

In a recent interview on Full Send Podcast, Paul said Diaz didn’t want to risk his reputation and lose to Paul in an MMA fight. Those are the comments that sparked Diaz’s response Monday.

“I think it’s too big of a risk, right?” Paul said. “$10 million, but if he loses to me it’s legacy. He’s going to get made fun of and he felt the power. I don’t think he could take me down. … It’s kind of a lose-lose situation for him. That’s why behind the scenes on the business side of things, he’s making outrageous number claims and negotiations and wanting such unrealistic things. … It’s like Nate is ducking me.”

It’s unclear what the next move for either Paul or Diaz is at this time. Paul’s promotion, Most Valuable Promotions, has indicated his next fight is already in the works, though it’s unknown who or when that will take place. Diaz, meanwhile, is a free agent. He departed the UFC in late 2021 and indicated he would like to eventually return.
