Jon Jones reacts to UFC-USADA split, remove DC No Contest

Jon Jones has offered up his thoughts on the UFC and United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) splitting up.

It was recently announced that USADA and the UFC will not be renewing their partnership with one another at the end of 2023. USADA CEO Travis Tygart divulged that the relationship between the two parties soured due to the conflict between UFC star Conor McGregor and the drug testing agency. It was recently announced that McGregor officially re-entered the drug testing pool, but would need six months of clean testing before being eligible to compete.

One man who is certainly happy with USADA no longer being in the UFC fold is heavyweight champion Jon Jones. “Bones” took to his account on X to share his excitement for the news.

“Man I survived USADA,” Jones wrote. “First they said I was guilty of having picograms, then they considered me innocent, next picograms became legal. Guess what I’m still here, still unbeaten. That BS no contest over DC needs to be taken off my record. I’ve never cheated this sport and I will stand by that until the Day I die.”

Jones has had several run-ins with USADA throughout the course of his career. After several failed drug tests and complications with the agency, Jones’ legacy became somewhat tainted during his run as light heavyweight champion. Suspensions and fight cancellations put a damper and halt to his career on multiple occasions as a result of failed drug tests with USADA.
