Dillon Danis appealing loss to Logan Paul, says he wants to fight in the UFC

Dillon Danis lost to Logan Paul in a boxing match in the Misfits Boxing promotion but maintains that he’d win in a ‘real fight.’

Danis appeared on Piers Morgan on Tuesday sporting a pair of sunglasses and said that he’s appealing the loss to Paul because Paul punched him while he was on the ground.  Danis lost to Paul via disqualification after he tried to apply a guillotine choke and pull guard in the final round sparking a melee between teams.

“It didn’t feel like a fight.  It felt like he was running away.  Every time I tried to engage with him and tried to get in there and like trade he would run away,” Danis said.

“Even Conor [McGregor] said that.  He was running.  He was on the back foot the whole time.  I was trying to push forward.  I wanted to fight.  I wanted to clinch.  I wanted to play.  I was like, let’s go.”

Danis landed nine punches throughout the six-round bout.  Had the match not ended in a disqualification Paul would have easily won via unanimous decision.

“Boxing is not a real fight,” said Danis.  “It’s half a fight.  I want to fight him in a real fight.  He shook my hand and said that he was going to fight me in MMA.”

Danis is signed with Bellator MMA and has a 2-0 record in mixed martial arts.  He has two more fights left on his contract with the organization.  Despite that, Danis said he wants to go to the UFC.

“After this, I’m going to the UFC.  I want to go to the UFC.  I think the UFC now will see my potential in selling fights and everything like that,” Danis said.

The longtime McGregor training partner believes that he can beat the best fighters on the UFC roster.

“All this stuff I’ve ever said I’m willing to go prove it,” said Danis.  “My jiu-jitsu’s too good for these guys.”

“I would fight all of them.  I would fight Jon Jones.  I’m not scared.  I’ve done a lie detector test and it showed that I believe that.  If you’re a fighter and you don’t believe that then you’re not a real fighter.  I believe I can beat any man in the world.

“I think these guys aren’t that good, and I’m willing to go prove that.  Put me in the UFC and give me Islam [Makhachev] the first fight… Sign me.  Let’s do it.  Give me anybody that you want.  Don’t send anybody that you want back.  I’ll beat them all, and I want to prove what I’m saying is true.  It pisses me off that people don’t believe in me.”
