In the octagon Islam Makhachev gave praise to his steam and fans, “I have the great team. We always did this in the locker room. Always. The training pushed me very hard.  That’s why it’s happened today.  And, I told you this not like same like Australia.  Here is my second home.  All fans thank you. This is because you always support me. Thank you.”

Islam then went on to say a few things about his opponent Alexander Volkanovski, “He’s a real champion. I told you, you have to turn on the light to defeat this guy. He gonna fight all five rounds. He never give up. He’s a real champion.”

UFC 294 took place on Sunday, October 21, at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
