The rumored Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz boxing rematch has been dealt a significant blow

As the date of his return was revealed, questions were raised about who Jake Paul would be stepping into the ring against on December 15, and many believed a Nate Diaz rematch was in the works. The former UFC star only added to the speculation with a recent social media post.

According to Diaz’s social media accounts, the two would be locking horns in the squared circle again later this year. The YouTuber-turned-boxer has now dismissed this after his team went public about the situation.

In a statement on X (Twitter), Jake Paul’s company Most Valuable Promotions openly declined the thoughts of an immediate rematch and instead presented their own idea to the Stockton native.

Paul has been angling for a fight inside the PFL SmartCage and is insisting that it’s the only way Diaz will get his rematch. Despite being a free agent, the 38-year-old earlier refused to ever step into the Professional Fighters League cage due to his loyalty to the UFC and insisted he was only interested in a second bout in boxing.

If the two stars do eventually agree on a fight in the sport of mixed martial arts, it will likely take place in the PFL’s new SuperFight Division. The new division was co-founded by global influencer Jake Paul and has plans to blow up with their idea of putting on huge fights for the fans. Although his debut date is still unknown, Francis Ngannou will likely compete in this format.

What’s next for Nate Diaz following Jake Paul snub?

Nate Diaz is approaching the tail-end of his career in combat sports but remains intent on showcasing his skills to the world.

Despite losing a rather one-sided boxing match last time out, the Californian is ready to strap on the gloves and go again. He is adamant about gaining some sort of vengeance for his loss to Jake Paul and would welcome the influencer into the UFC octagon if a clash in the ring fails to materialize.

While his return is up in the air, Diaz has shown interest in “taking over” another sport and mentioned a possible venture into the jiu-jitsu world before potentially returning to the UFC.
