UFC free fight: Brendan Allen ends Andre Muniz’s nine-fight win streak by giving him first submission loss

Brendan Allen did what few thought was possible in the UFC’s middleweight division – submit 3rd degree jiu-jitsu black belt Andre Muniz.

At UFC Fight Night 220 in February, Allen submitted Muniz and ended his nine-fight winning streak. It was an impressive feat given Muniz’s respected ground game and trajectory in the UFC, as he defeated Uriah Hall and Ronaldo Souza prior to the fight against Allen. It was a standout win for Allen and one that announced his arrival in the UFC’s middleweight division.

You can watch Allen’s submission win in the video above.

Allen (22-5 MMA, 10-2 UFC) returns to the cage this Saturday in the main event of UFC Fight Night 232 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. He takes on fellow submission artist Paul Craig (17-6-1 MMA, 9-6-1 UFC). The event streams on ESPN+.
