Highlights! Allen Slices Through Craig For Easy Submission

Brendan Allen punched his ticket to a top 10 matchup after knocking off Paul Craig via third-round submission earlier today (Sat., Nov. 18, 2023) at UFC Vegas 82 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is Allen’s fourth-straight finish by way of rear-naked choke.

Allen was in control early into the fight with a few slamming takedowns and solid top control, but Craig threatened off his back the entire way. This included a calf slicer midway through the first that had Allen in panic mode. Both fighters connected with power punches to open the second, but it was Allen who landed the harder shot and ended up on top scoring heavy elbows and ground-and-pound.

Craig somehow survived the first 10 minutes of action, but his luck eventually ran out in the third. Allen went back to the well, scored another takedown, and worked his way to Craig’s back. From there, Allen locked up the rear-naked choke finish and put a stop to “Bearjew.”

Allen, who was competing in his first UFC main event, has now won his last six trips to the Octagon. This may have been the most impressive one and a headlining act that’s going to land “All In” a legitimate contender his next time out.
