Jake Paul claims Nate Diaz’s reluctancy to accept $10 million MMA fight proves he’s scared

Nate Diaz has built up his reputation over the years as arguably one of the greatest fighters in UFC history to never be a champion. Throughout his height in the sport, the Stockton native was beating some of the best competitors to ever grace the octagon.

Conor McGregor was just one of many standouts that fell short against Diaz but is the veteran now afraid to compete against YouTuber Jake Paul? According to ‘The Problem Child’, the aging MMA legend is reluctant about ruining his legacy in the sport by accepting a fight with him.

Jake gave a timeline for when he would ideally make his PFL debut. He also revealed the offer that has been presented to Diaz, which is still yet to be accepted amid uncertainty from the 38-year-old.

“We’re ready. MMA, end of 2024, $10 million which is more than he’s ever made for an MMA fight ever and he’s sitting there asking for more money.” Jake Paul claimed when referring to his stalled negotiations with Nate Diaz. “He’s sitting there asking for more money, basically drunk tweeting random sh*t and random fight posters, making himself look like a fool.”

“I just can’t comprehend what they’re trying to do or what they’re saying but this is the fight game. Everyone says they want to do things, everyone calls people out, everyone blah, blah, blah. But nobody actually makes sh*t happen. That’s what I’ve looked to change in this sport.”

When referencing his seriousness about competing in mixed martial arts, the social media star spoke of his intention to step into the cage and his belief that Diaz is worried about the matchup.

“I’m [going to] start throwing knees and kicks. Getting back to my Ohio wrestling roots, shooting takedowns and I truly believe that he knows it would be a really tough fight for him. And I think that’s the thing for him where he’s like, ‘Damn, do I risk my whole MMA reputation by giving this kid a chance here.'”

When is Jake Paul fighting next?

Despite making his interest in MMA public, Jake Paul will continue to build his resume inside the squared circle and already has another fight lined up.

Having won seven of his eight professional bouts in the boxing world, the 26-year-old has shown real promise this early into his career. After adding multiple former MMA champions to his resume, the popular star is ready to make a step up in competition.

On December 15, Jake has lined up a tough meeting with 10-1-1 vet Andre August. 50% of his victories have come by way of knockout and the Texan will likely be one of the toughest tests of the young fighters time in the sport.
