Conor McGregor would be an ideal addition to bare knuckle boxing, claims Eddie Alvarez

Throughout his rise to fame, Conor McGregor has made waves in multiple combat sports and has become a household name in the process. The Irishman was a dominant presence in mixed martial arts during his prime and even managed to secure a huge crossover boxing match against arguably the greatest boxer of all time, Floyd Mayweather.

‘The Notorious’ has teased about venturing into multiple different sports, with it beginning to look increasingly likely that he’ll make an appearance in the WWE. The megastar also sparked rumors about potentially featuring in a bareknuckle boxing matchup once his days in MMA are over and one of his former rivals believes it’s a no-brainer that it should happen.

Currently signed with BKFC, Eddie Alvarez has openly admitted that he would like to see Conor McGregor join him in the bareknuckle boxing world. While talking to Morning Kombat, the Philadelphia native insisted that McGregor’s iconic karate-influenced stance would be a great fit for the sport.

“I think he has a good style for it just because like I said, that fencing style where you’re in and out, and you’re not taking shots to give shots, and you’re not kind of Mexican fighting. I would say that’s conducive for bareknuckle.”

“That bouncy, back-and-forth ‘tag you’re it’ style makes for a very good bareknuckle fighter. Conor has that style. I think he would do well, [it’s] just a matter of if he’s able to get out of that contract and make something happen.”

McGregor made an appearance in the bareknuckle world when he went face-to-face with Mike Perry following his impressive win over Luke Rockhold in April. ‘The Underground King’ was also present on the card and received advice from the Dublin-born star from the crowd.
