UFC welterweight phenom Ian Garry is turning into one of the most insufferable personalities on the 170-pound roster, but since “The Future” is undefeated at 13-0 with eight finishes, he’s earned the right to continue bragging about himself until proven otherwise.

Next on the docket?

A welterweight showdown against battle-tested veteran Vicente Luque at the upcoming UFC 296: “Edwards vs. Covington” pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Sat., Dec. 16, 2023 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Dec. 16, stay tuned, be ready, because I’m going to go out there and I’m going to finish Vicente Luque whatever way I want,” Garry said on “The Energized Show” (transcribed by Farah Hannoun). “I’m unbelievable. I’ve been telling you this since I was a teenager, I am unbelievable. The way my brain works, and the way I look at fights, and the way I calculate stuff is just different to people on the planet. I have a different wavelength, a different understanding of the way fighting works.”

So did Giga Chikadze … right up until this happened.

Garry, 26, made headlines earlier this month after getting tossed from Team Renegade, home to UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards. But it doesn’t sound like “The Future” is losing any sleep over his change in scenery, simply because he’s that much better than everyone else in the division.

Just ask him, he’ll tell you.

“I can go in there and manipulate and manhandle people in any way, shape, or form that I want to because I’m that much better than them,” Garry continued. “This fight with Luque, the fight with (Neil) Magny, the fight with ‘D-Rod,’ it’s all the same stuff, just repeated in different ways. I will find a way to have success, and I will win every single time because I am that much better than everyone. So, everyone should be excited.”
