Joe Pyfer is getting a major step up in competition — and his first main event.

“Bodybagz” is scheduled to collide with No. 10-ranked Jack Hermansson atop the upcoming UFC Vegas 86 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, recently made official for Sat., Feb. 10, 2024 at the promotion’s APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Pyfer (12-2) blasted his way into UFC with a thunderous, second-round technical knockout over Osman Diaz on Dana White’s “Contender Series” back in summer 2022. Since then, the Pennsylvanian has racked up three straight wins with all three contests ending by way of knockout or submission.

As for Hermansson (23-8), eight years older than Pyfer at 35, he’s struggled to stay consistent over the last few years, alternating wins and losses — to the tune of a 4-4 record — since upsetting “Jacare” Souza in early 2019. “The Joker” is looking to rebound from a technical knockout defeat to Roman Dolidze at UFC Orlando late last year.

UFC Vegas 86 will also feature the middleweight mashup between longtime veteran Brad Tavares and Brazilian “Robocop” Gregory Rodrigues. Elsewhere on the ESPN+ fight card, 170-pound veteran Trevin Giles looks to be a “Problem” for streaking welterweight newcomer Carlos Prates.

Stay tuned for more UFC Vegas 86 fight card announcements in the coming weeks.
