Sean Strickland was so out of control Friday night in his attack on Ian Garry and is wife that teammate and long-time friend, Chris Curtis, had to delete his social media account. It’s a rarity to see, especially when you know what Strickland is going to bring to the table, but that’s exactly what happened this weekend.

On Friday, Strickland took to social media to shed some light on Garry’s current relationship with his wife. The MMA community had just learned that Garry’s wife wrote a book years ago about how to get with young athletes for their money so it was only a matter of time before the comments started to roll in.

Strickland, who is currently the UFC’s undisputed middleweight champion, wasted little time jumping on the keyboard and sharing his two cents. In classic Strickland form, he proceeded to destroy Garry and his wife with a collection of tweets and videos. Garry eventually responded with threats of a lawsuit and things continued to unravel.

Along the way, Curtis decided to join in on the discussion and actually tried to defend Garry and his current situation. Curtis sometimes tries to be the voice of reason when it comes to Strickland’s social media ventures.

“Y’all need to chill with the Ian Garry thing,” wrote Curtis in a since-deleted tweet. “Man has a life that is unconventional to you all but it’s his life and it works for him. People are giving his wife shit for a book she wrote 12 years ago. Ian is a grown man and you are a fool if you don’t think they haven’t.”

Strickland was quick to reply and didn’t let Curtis off the hook for his opposing outlook.

“If Curt isn’t careful he might slip and fall on Ian’s d—k,” wrote the UFC champion.

Since then, Curtis has deactivated his Twitter account and has yet to bring it back. It’s unknown at this time how long Curtis intends to stay off social media, but with a madman like Strickland at the wheel and free to say anything he wants it may be best for Curtis to sit on the sidelines for a bit longer.
