Highlights! Magomedkerimov Submits Sy With $1 Million Choke

Magomed Magomedkerimov proved once again that he’s one of the most dangerous welterweights in the world today at PFL 10: Championship 2023 earlier tonight (Fri., Nov. 24, 2023) live on ESPN+ PPV from inside The Anthem in Washington D.C., as the Russian fighter stopped Sadibou Sy with a third-round submission (guillotine choke).

Magomedkerimov, 33, was the betting favorite coming into this fight having won 17 out of his last 18 pro fights. The former 2018 PFL Welterweight Tournament Champion also held a previous win over Sy from a meeting back in 2021, which Magomedkerimov won via unanimous decision.

Friday’s rematch was on the biggest stage PFL has to offer and an opportunity for either fighter to win $1 million. Unfortunately for Sy, Magomedkerimov took full advantage of a clinch in Round 3 and locked up a tight guillotine choke. Sy tried to defend, but Magomedkerimov pulled guard, squeezed even tighter, and eventually got the finish.

As a result, Magomedkerimov walks away with the PFL Welterweight Tournament title and a check for $1 million.
