Midnight Mania! ‘Coward’ Garry Threatens To Sue Strickland For Wife Slander

It’s been quite a year in combat sports for lawsuits involving wives and girlfriends (WAGs). First time hearing the WAG phrase? Perhaps you should purchase How to be a WAG, the instructional on becoming a wife and/or girlfriend of a famous athlete written by Layla Ann-Lee … current wife of UFC Welterweight contender Ian Garry.

Admittedly, the book was written over a decade ago, but it has taken the MMA Twitter sphere by storm. Everyone and their mother is speculating about Garry’s marriage, and naturally, everyone includes UFC Middleweight champion Sean Strickland. The ever-vocal Strickland expressed real concern over the relationship, and he advised Garry to pull the plug ASAP.

“I never talk about anybody’s spouses, but this s—t ain’t right … Ian Garry, I remember I met you in New York, you were with this fine-ass girl, she had the little nipple coverings, we all f—king seen it … I remember thinking to myself, ‘There ain’t something right about that girl.’ Something about that woman ain’t f—king right. The way she walked, the way she looked, the way she talked, I knew it.

“Now, I find out that your 26, she’s f—king 40, the ex-f—king husband lives with you, you took her last name. Motherfucker she wrote a book on how to be a WAG. I didn’t even know what a WAG was until now … she’s a succubus. You got to run away, bro.”

Perhaps Strickland had good intentions here, but that’s a pretty lengthy verbal attack on Garry’s wife over mostly internet speculation. It’s not a shock that Garry didn’t appreciate it one bit, and he direct messaged Strickland to tell him. On its own, that would be unlikely to cause drama, but Garry also threatened legal action per Strickland. In the posted DMs, Garry wrote that Strickland was “partaking in harassment and defamation of character,” as well as spreading “hate, lies, and harassment.”

Strickland didn’t like that one bit. He immediately brought up the hypocrisy of Garry talking trash on Geoff Neal and using his mugshot for fight promotion and merchandise sales, then asking Strickland to mind his business. He also labeled Garry a “f—king coward.” He also dropped another rant, demanding that Garry handle the situation “like a man.”

“This motherf—ker, he says, ‘I’m gonna sue you if you don’t delete that.’ You’re gonna sue me motherf—ker?!? He said that I was lying. Motherf—ker, I ain’t lying! You are 26, she is 40, she wrote a f—king book on how to be old and be with a young athlete. I ain’t f—king lying bro, this is factual.

“Ian Garry, I don’t give a f—k about being sued, you think I give a f—k. You want me to respect you? You say, ‘I’m going to go to Bass Pro Shop or wherever the f—k you go, and I’m gonna go buy a 9 and handle this like a man.’ I would’ve respected that”

In the interim, Strickland is scheduled to defend his Middleweight crown opposite Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297. Garry, meanwhile, will square off against Vicente Luque next month at UFC 296.
