Highlights! Benavidez Batters Andrade, Forces Corner Stoppage

David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KO) kept his perfect record in tact last night (Sat., Nov 25, 2023) live on Showtime PPV from inside Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the WBC interim super middleweight champion stopped former WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade (32-1, 19 KO) with a sixth-round TKO.

Andrade rehydrated quite a bit to be the bigger fighter capable of bullying his way inside, but Benavidez was able to survive the early attacks and stick to his own gameplan. His efforts culminated with a memorable knockdown in the fourth round. Andrade returned to his feet, but it did some damage.

Benavidez kept the pressure up in the fifth and really started to batter Andrade. The punishment kept coming in the sixth as Benavidez was in full control. After the round came to a close Andrade’s corner took a good look at their fighter and decided to call a stop to the fight.

As a result, Benavidez walks away with the TKO stoppage, one of the biggest wins of his career, and a potential clash with Canelo Alvarez in the near future.
