Highlights! Taylor Shocks Cameron, Becomes Two-Weight Undisputed Champ

Katie Taylor and Chantelle Cameron turned in another thrilling brawl earlier tonight (Sat., Nov. 25, 2023) live on DAZN from inside 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, as the two rematched for Cameron’s WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO and The Ring female light-welterweight titles. In the end, it was Taylor who did enough on the judges’ scorecards to walk away with the majority decision win to become a two-weight undisputed world champion.

Taylor had dropped an upset majority decision loss in the first meeting back in May. Cameron is the bigger fighter and was able to lay it on Taylor at that time. It was the first appearance for Taylor on Irish soil in her professional boxing career, but it didn’t end the way she had hoped.

Saturday was a bit different. While Taylor still had to deal with Cameron’s size she was able to return fire when she needed to. With the backing of fellow Irish superstar, Conor McGregor, Taylor battled it out for 10 hard rounds to capture the decision nod and leave the Dublin crowd in a frenzy,

McGregor, who has been a huge supporter of Taylor over the years, posted the following message to social media following the contest to congratulate his fellow Irish fighter:

“Two women amazing! Congratulations Katie Taylor! What a comeback! What a redemption! What a hero of Ireland!”
