Michael Page provides update on possible UFC signing: ‘There’s still a few hurdles’

Michael Page is still a free agent.

Page (21-2) was invited to recent UFC shows in London and Abu Dhabi, which caused a stir about him possibly joining the leading MMA promotion, but a deal is yet to be finalized. Although it appears the UFC could be the frontrunner to sign Page, the former Bellator title challenger says discussions are still ongoing.

MVP has already been called out by UFC welterweights Jonny Parsons and Michel Pereira.

“I wish I could say for certain that we have (signed), but we haven’t,” Page said on “The MMA Fan Show.” “Honestly speaking, we’re not there yet. There’s still a few hurdles that we need to jump over. But like I said, we flirting.”

For Page, the UFC isn’t necessarily the dream destination, but he knows it’s the organization that will likely provide him the biggest and most entertaining fights.

“It’s difficult to say (if that’s the dream),” Page said. “I think there are dream fights, and a lot of those dream fights land in the UFC. How I feel now to how I felt when I first joined MMA, the whole goal was UFC because there was no other big shows that could really do anything.

“Over time, things have changed. It’s a lot more than just the name of the brand. There’s a lot more to it, but hopefully we can still get there and see those dream fights happen.”

Page has thrilled MMA fans with some of the most devastating and electrifying finishes throughout his career. He recently made his bareknuckle boxing debut against Mike Perry, losing a close majority decision in August 2022. Page then finished veteran Goiti Yamauchi with a brutal leg kick in just 26 seconds at Bellator 292 this past March.
