Former UFC sluggers Mike Perry and Eddie Alvarez will collide for the “King of Violence” crown atop the upcoming BKFC 56 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Sat., Dec. 2, 2023 at Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

It’s a fight Perry wishes he could have scored earlier in his career, preferably before combat sports superstar Conor McGregor smashed Alvarez for the lightweight title in the UFC 205 headliner back in late 2016 in New York City.

“It’s a nice plus because he’s been a champion in three different organizations but I kind of feel like he’s sloppy seconds for me,” Perry told MMA Fighting. “Because Conor [McGregor] already did it to him. I’ve just got to repeat it. I’ve got to do that same thing to him. I’m going to put that pressure on him, punch him in the face and knock him down. I don’t know how many times he’s going to get up. We’ll see.”

Perry, 32, parted ways with UFC after posting back-to-back losses in early 2021. “Platinum” eventually found his way to the bareknuckle arena and has since registered three straight wins, including his technical knockout finish over Luke Rockhold at BKFC 41.

“It’s just facts are facts,” Perry continued. “I’m much more of a puncher than he is. I’m much more of a brawler than he is. There’s not a lot of technical standpoints that he has that he can utilize to gain any ground in this fight. He can try to run. He can try hide. He can try to keep his guard up and try to make me punch his hard spots like his forehead or his elbows but the thing is, I’m not going to stop punching him. If those are the spots he’s giving me, I’ll break through them. I’ll break him down and I plan to dismantle Eddie Alvarez.”

Alvarez, 39, also competed at BKFC 41, scoring a decision victory over Chad Mendes in his bareknuckle debut. “The Underground King” has fought for UFC, Bellator, and ONE Championship, among other promotions, racking up multiple world titles along the way.
