Marvin Vettori is open to giving a new potential Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight star his first big test in the promotion.

Dagestan’s Sharabutdin “Shara Bullet” Magomedov entered the promotion with a decent amount of buzz ahead of his debut at UFC 294 last month (Oct. 21, 2023). The undefeated 11-0 striker extended his perfect record by outperforming the durable veteran, Bruno Silva, en route to a unanimous decision win.

Only one fight into his UFC tenure, Magomedov is already seeking out the top contenders, according to the No. 5-ranked contender, Vettori.

“Pirate guy asked for me again and all I can say I accept the request with open arms,” Vettori tweeted. “Be careful what you wish for because it may happen they say @ufc @Mickmaynard2”

Going by some of UFC’s Middleweight matchmaking in 2023, it doesn’t feel out the realm of possibility to see a Vettori vs. Magomedov bout sooner rather than later.

The next fight for the one-time title challenger, Vettori, will see him look to rebound off a tough unanimous decision loss to Jared Cannonier in his last time out (watch highlights). Vettori found himself on the receiving end of the division’s all-time significant strikes record in the bout, following a unanimous decision win over Roman Dolidze.
