Dana White is working on a major “super fight” for UFC fans.

While that would normally include former two-division champion Conor McGregor, the UFC CEO revealed his secretive bout is being assembled independent of the power-punching Irishman, who remains the promotion’s top pay-per-view (PPV) draw.

That’s good news for the patient (some might say delusional) Michael Chandler.

“We’re talking about one right now, actually, that just popped up a few days ago,” White told Full Send. “I can’t talk about it until we get everybody … well, every fight that you would consider a ‘super fight’ would involve McGregor but this one isn’t, no.”

White also said McGregor will “100 percent” fight in 2024.

“These guys are all in good positions where they can wait for the right time,” White continued, perhaps oblivious to this recent grievance. “When you actually think about the fight, Chandler-Conor is a fun (expletive) fight. Tell me the last boring fight Chandler was in. Even going back to Bellator. He was in exciting fights in Bellator, too.”

Some might even say one of the greatest fights of all time.

The upcoming UFC 300 pay-per-view (PPV) card in April is expected to feature the best the promotion has to offer, including McGregor, but the annual International Fight Week PPV extravaganza in July will also be stacked with a lineup of heavy hitters.

Where this secret “Super Fight” fits into those plans remains to be seen.
