Ian Garry has been pushed out of several gyms in the past, and now it sounds like there’s drama in another of his training spots, Kill Cliff MMA.

It’s Ian Garry vs. the world these days, and that includes many of his former gyms and training partners.

Garry is set to face Vicente Luque at UFC 296, which is a solid fight but also kind of awkward since both men train at Kill Cliff MMA. Garry always likes to engage in mental warfare with his future opponents, but his mild attacks against Luque seem to have already gotten other Kill Cliff fighters gassed up.

“I think it’s a really b— move to announce you’re leaving the gym and then ask for or somehow it comes about hat you’re fighting a guy that you were training with,” No. 8 ranked Brendan Allen told ESPN MMA. “Vicente’s one of the nicest guys ever, he don’t talk about nobody. He barely talks in the gym.”

“I think [Ian’s] whack,” he added. “I think he’s young. I think he’s misled. I think he talks way too much. I understand he’s trying to be like Conor, but there’s only one Conor … I feel like he was at a turning point where he could go down one road and still be a good person and not let things transfer over. But now I think he’s going down the other way where he’s like a Colby Covington type of thing. It kind of sucks because he was a nice guy.”

“But I think it’s one thing to play a persona like Colby does, and behind closed doors they say he’s a really nice guy. I don’t know, I’ve never met him. But I’ve met Ian. And you can put this persona on, but actions speak louder than words.”

One thing Allen is particularly tired of is Garry’s comments about private sparring sessions. If Ian wants to talk about those, let’s talk about the one where “The Future” got brutally knocked out. No, not the time Leon Edwards allegedly knocked him out. Allen says there’s footage from Kill Cliff of it happening again.

“He records everything, they record everything,” Allen said. “But just know there’s video and he knows what name not to say to let it come out of what happened to him. I’m not gonna release it but just know there is someone in that gym that has slept him. Out.”

“So for him to come out and say how good he is at striking? Yeah, everyone has their days. He probably got the best of me a couple sparring sessions. But there’s many sparring sessions where I did what I did too.”

Garry is usually uber-confident in the face of all this hate, but the latest volley of attacks that have pulled his wife into things seems to have shaken him up. His Twitter account is currently locked down and protected, leading to accusations that he can dish it but can’t take it.

Let’s see how he handles all the negative pressure on December 16th.
