Former UFC welterweight title challenger Darren Till, who now competes in the 185-pound division, is being targeted by Karate Combat for a potential middleweight title fight against current champion Ross Levine at some point in early 2024.

“Darren Till is one of the top strikers in the game and so is our middleweight champion Ross Levine, so we’re very interested in making that fight,” Karate Combat president Asim Zaidi told Daily Star. “We’d hoped to get the fight made for the Dec. 15 event in Las Vegas but we couldn’t get a deal finalized in time. We’ll return to negotiations in 2024 and hopefully get that fight made early in the new year.“

Levine is currently scheduled to face former middleweight slugger “Smile’N” Sam Alvey as part of the Karate Combat event on Dec. 15 in Las Vegas, a card headlined by the welterweight trilogy between former lightweights Anthony Pettis and Ben Henderson.

“Darren Till made some tweet about how he could demolish the entire Karate Combat roster in one night — I was like great, I’ll take care of that,” Levine said. “I think we match up amazingly and he’s got crazy good striking skills. He’s only ever really had problems with guys that can wrestle. We’d have an all-striking fight and it would be great. And obviously I am happy to put my Karate Combat Middleweight Championship on the line for him as well. Immediate title shot, come and get it!”
