Dillon Danis’ days in mixed martial arts (MMA) appeared numbered before they truly began.

The former Bellator Welterweight prospect went 2-0 in his only career bouts in the sport from April 2018 to June 2019. Absent from the latter timeframe until this past month (October 14, 2023), Danis instead returned for his professional boxing debut opposite Logan Paul.

Unfortunately for the once-budding Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) star, Danis, he suffered defeat against Paul via a sixth round disqualification (watch highlights) and doesn’t seem to have any real options left in combat sports. Over the years, the 30-year-old has confidently voiced his belief in how he’d dominate several of the biggest stars in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). However, after seeing how the antics continue to play out at every turn, UFC CEO, Dana White, doesn’t see the point in bringing in the loudmouth social media figure.

“Do you think he should be? I heard he just retired,” White said on the FULL SEND PODCAST. “The other thing with him is, and I have no beef with the kid at all, I’ve probably said two words to him in my whole life. … But every time he’s around, s—t’s going down. We can’t have that stuff going on.

“A lot of people see like when guys get into it on stage or something starts to happen, ‘Oh, they must love this,’ or whatever,” he continued. “No. No, we don’t love it. We don’t need that s—t to sell fights, and basically what happens is when that goes down, the athletic commission goes crazy and people start getting fined and they come after us. It’s our job to keep that s—t under control. That’s why when we see these other events where these guys and everything breaks out like that, it’s a f—king total unprofessional clown show.”

The closest Danis has gotten to competing in a UFC bout came in the infamous post-UFC 229 scuffle in October 2018. Cornering his teammate, Conor McGregor, for his Lightweight title tilt with the then-champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Danis was on the receiving end of “The Eagle’s” aerial assault that caused a chaotic scene to close the show.
