RIZIN 45 will close out the 2023 calendar in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA).

As is tradition, the Japan-based promotion gets set to deliver with an action-packed night of fights that currently has two big title fights on tap. With one of two more BROADENED HORIZIN installments coming your way this year, episode 33 required some gold.

Opening the show is the man of many opportunities, RIZIN Bantamweight champion, Juan Archuleta, who is set to make his first title defense against former champion, Kai Asakura, in the main event. Still under contract with Bellator (now PFL), Archuleta has the capability to stay as active as ever and accomplish an unimaginable amount of goals. The 36-year-old 33-fight veteran was more open than ever, sharing his untold experiences in Bellator in and out of the cage ahead of his big capstone to 2023.

Closing things out was “The Magician,” John Dodson, who was last seen in action capturing Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) Flyweight gold with another first round knockout in August 2023. Before that, Dodson secured his second win in the RIZIN ring, earning a unanimous decision over Tatsuki Saomoto. Next up, he’ll look to claim a title challenger spot at the newly introduced RIZIN 125-pound crown with a win over Japanese mainstay, Hiromasa Ougikubo.
