The hits just keep on coming … and we still have to get through weigh ins.

Undefeated bantamweight up-and-comer Daniel Marcos was pulled from the UFC Vegas 83 lineup on Sat. night (Dec. 9, 2023) and will no longer be fighting newcomer Carlos Vera on ESPN+, thanks to visa issues that prevented “Soncora” from traveling to APEX in Las Vegas.

That’s according to MMA Junkie.

The 30 year-old Marcos (15-0) scored a UFC contract by capturing a decision win over Brandon Lewis on Dana White’s “Contender Series” back in late 2022 and has since racked up two straight wins inside the cage.

As for Vera (11-3), who was a member of Team McGregor on Season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), UFC Vegas 83 was to mark his Octagon debut. The well-traveled “Pequeno” turned 36 just a few weeks back.

No word yet on whether or not the promotion will rebook Marcos vs. Vera for a later date or send both fighters on their separate ways against different opponents. With just one more fight card to close out the year, we’re unlikely to see either combatant until early 2024.
