Jake Paul Celebrates ‘Record-Breaking’ Ticket Sales

Jake Paul has done it again.

After previously setting a record for “sweet science” ticket sales at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, “The Problem Child” has now recorded the highest live gate for a boxing event in Orlando, Fla., just one day ahead of his eight-round cruiserweight headliner opposite Andre August on DAZN (watch it here).

That’s sure to come as a disappointment to Miguel Cotto fans.

“It’s unbelievable that Jake made his debut in 2020, also in Florida, and sold less than 1500 tickets with a miniscule gate,” Mike Leanardi, director of boxing for Most Valuable Promotions, told BoxingScene.com. “Now in 2023, we’re back in Florida, this time Orlando, and despite it being a week before Christmas and him facing a formidable but unknown opponent, Jake broke Miguel Cotto’s record for the highest gate and average ticket price of any boxing event in Orlando’s history. Just being mentioned in the same breath as Cotto speaks volumes to Jake’s star power. If anyone still doubts Jake Paul, I’m proud to say they’ve been proven wrong yet again.”

Today’s news may come as a surprise to fight fans shopping for tickets.

That’s because Caribe Royale Resort still has gobs of seats available in multiple sections. In fact, the screenshot embedded below is not that far off from our first ticket search late last month, though Paul expects “dynamic pricing” to result in a sellout by fight night.

Here’s a look (as of Thurs. afternoon):

No cause for alarm for “smart businessmen.”

“And yes we won’t sell out until fight day,” Paul wrote on social media. “Smart promotions and businessmen set the pricing just right knowing the selling data and audience. It’s called dynamic pricing. If you sell tickets and they sell out right away then shouldn’t you have priced them higher? Simple supply/demand/and pricing economics. No wonder KSI was gonna pull out of the PRIME deal days before launch… because he’s a bird brain.”

Just like with the MSG debacle, not everyone is sold (har har) on Paul’s ticket tale.
