Holly Holm’s manager claims Miesha Tate has turned down a second fight between former champions at UFC 300.

Holly Holm has been hard at work in the gym over the holiday season.

“The Preacher’s Daughter” is hoping to land a long-awaited rematch against Miesha Tate at UFC 300. Tate took the women’s bantamweight belt off Holm at UFC 196 back in 2016 via a last second guillotine choke. So that’s clearly a loss that bothers Holly. It also bothers Miesha, who says she’s never gotten the proper respect for the win.

“I look at the comments, go look at any comments that ‘she was getting her ass kicked, kicking her ass until she got that submission,” Tate complained in a recent interview. “It’s like, not really.”

In the same interview, Tate said she’d be interested in the rematch for UFC 300. But according to Holm’s management, that’s not the case.

“She wants nothing to do with Holly,” her manager Lenny Fresquez told MMA Junkie. “She’s turned down the fight three times already. We are looking for someone tougher.”

Holm is coming off a tough submission loss to Mayra Bueno Silva in her last bout. On the plus side, the defeat won’t technically count on her record after Bueno Silva tested positive for ritalinic acid. As a result, the loss has been changed to a No Contest.

Still, it’s been a rough couple of years for Holm, who keeps having to pull out of fights with various injuries. At 42 years of age, she’s clearly entering the end game of her fighting career. Hopefully the next step will occur at UFC 300.

“We are hopeful we will be on UFC 300,” Fresquez said. “No opponents have been brought up yet.”
