Was This Spider-Man Vs. Superman Fight The Most Insane Event Of 2023?

Now that 2023 is coming to a close fight fans can take a step back and appreciate everything that happened over the past 12 months. This surprisingly includes a mixed martial arts (MMA) fight between Spider-Man and Superman.

Unlike some of the other major sports, MMA offers a level of unpredictability and originality that you just can’t find anywhere else. That’s because fight promotions pop up all over the world offering some pretty insane matchups inside of the cage. This was on full display earlier this year when Russia’s Epic Fighting Championship (EFC) hosted a MMA bout featuring two of the biggest superheroes of all time.

The complete details of this event are really difficult to find, but this Marvel vs. DC throwdown occurred this past May under the EFC banner. EFC is known to put on some pretty controversial fights — such as one woman vs. two men in a handicap MMA match — so to see the promotion host a Spider-Man vs. Superman fight is par for the course.

Surprisingly, this matchup of comic book heroes featured some legitimate MMA action. There was some tomfoolery mixed in along the way, but Spider-Man looked pretty good in his exchanges and eventually stopped Superman with strikes on the ground. It was quite epic and one of the most obscure MMA sightings of 2023.
