Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

UFC 300 is scheduled for April 13, so we’re still about four months away from the marquee event that’s been guaranteed to blow the MMA community’s collective socks off. Though imminent announcements are promised, there are still just three fights officially booked for the card:

  • Jiri Prochazka vs. Aleksandar Rakic
  • Aljamain Sterling vs. Calvin Kattar
  • Bo Nickal vs. Cody Brundage

Until now, however, it hasn’t been clear just where in the bout order these bouts would fall. UFC CEO Dana White promised a star-studded fight card from the very first “Prelim” bout, muddying the waters on which bouts will air on pay-per-view (PPV) versus the ESPN+ app. According to the ESPN website, we now know one of the five (or perhaps six?) bouts that will take place on the main card: Prochazka vs. Rakic.

Sorry Aljo.

Nickal’s last two UFC bouts have been on the main card of PPV events, so this will be his first preliminary appearance. “Funkmaster” getting dismissed to the undercard is at least a touch surprising, considering he’s a recently dethroned former champion with multiple defenses to his name. Hopefully, this is just a continued sign of a spectacle in the making, rather than more disrespect to the former Bantamweight king.

Stay tuned for the latest UFC 300 news.
