ONE Championship announces 2024 calendar, includes two U.S. events

ONE Championship is coming back to America.

Following its U.S. debut in May, the promotion has booked two U.S.-based events as part of its 2024 calendar, which includes 12 events on Prime Video.

ONE returns Sept. 6 to Colorado, the same state that held its inaugural event, but this time in Denver proper at Ball Arena.

Then, Nov. 8, the promotion debuts in Georgia, with a Nov. 8 event at Allstate Arena in Atlanta. Georgia recently approved the ONE Championship ruleset, which has been met with public opposition from Association of Boxing and Combative Sports Commissions (ABC) president Mike Mazzulli.

ONE permits knees to the head of a grounded opponent, as well as scoring differences, which are unapproved by the ABC. The promotion’s entrance into U.S. regulatory territories has created polarity among regulators in the United States, with some regulators previously declining requests from ONE.

“We’re thrilled to return to the U.S. to showcase the greatest World Champion martial artists in the country’s best cities and sports arenas,” ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong said in a news release. “America remains a high-priority market for us as we continue our global expansion, and we can’t wait to get back on-ground to entertain our passionate fanbase in the region with quarterly U.S. events in September 2024 and beyond.”
