Two UFC Fight Night 238 replacements step in on less than one week’s notice

UFC Fight Night 238 will see two late changes Saturday.

Dana White’s Contender Series alum AJ Cunningham (11-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) replaces Joel Alvarez against Ludovit Klein (20-4-1 MMA, 4-2-1 UFC) in a lightweight bout Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie following an initial report from MMA Mania.

Also stepping in on short notice at UFC Fight Night 238 will be Sweden’s Bernardo Sopai (11-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who replaces Yanis Ghemmouri to take on Vinicius Oliveira (19-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC). The replacement was first reported by MMA Fighting.

Cunningham, a good friend and training partner of Bryce Mitchell, gets his UFC opportunity despite falling short on DWCS last September when he was knocked out in the second round by Steven Nguyen.

Sopai was scheduled to defend his Allstars Fight Night bantamweight title March 9 in Sweden before getting the call.

With the changes, here is the UFC Fight Night 238 lineup:
