Chuck Liddell: If Mike Tyson hits Jake Paul, ‘it’s over’

Chuck Liddell doesn’t see Jake Paul being able to handle Mike Tyson’s power.

Tyson (50-6) takes on YouTuber-turned-pro boxer Paul (9-1) July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys. The event airs live and free on Netflix.

Although Tyson will be 58 when he steps into the ring against 27-year-old Paul, UFC Hall of Famer Liddell thinks Paul is in for a rude awakening. Paul opened up as a -360 favorite over Tyson, who’s a +300 underdog.

“If Tyson takes a dive, (Paul’s) the favorite,” Liddell told TMZ. “But when Tyson hits him, it’s over. By the way, the last thing to go is power … last thing to go is power. He hits him, it’s over. You’ve seen Mike. He still hits. Keep covered up, man.”

Boxing legend Tyson returned for the first time in 15 years when he battled Roy Jones Jr. to a draw in their exhibition boxing match in November 2020. He has not competed since.

He posted a short video on social media Wednesday with clips of him training at the start of his camp.

Paul is coming off a first-round knockout of Ryan Bourland in their 200-pound bout earlier this month in San Juan, Puerto Rico. “The Problem Child’s” most notable wins came over former UFC champions Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva, as well as Nate Diaz.
